RUSCADA PEAK

With its 2004 m, Pizzo Ruscada is the highest point of the ridge between the Centovalli and the Onsernone Valley.

This beautiful pyramid, already clearly visible from the Magadino plain, can be reached by climbing the well-marked path that passes from the Cappellone or from the more demanding one, which climbs along the eastern ridge from which, however, without ever losing the necessary concentration , you can admire the different typology of the naturalistic landscape of the two sides: wild, with its overhangs and rocky walls, the one to the south, rich in vegetation, valleys and ridges, the one to the north.

Once at the top, the efforts made are rewarded by the magnificent panorama that embraces the numerous peaks of the Alps.

The view sweeps freely, at 360 °, from the imposing Gridone massif, which rises on the other side of the Centovalli, to the famous Four-thousanders of the Valais Alps and the Central Alps, to many of the 600 peaks of the Ticino Alps, to the on Lake Maggiore, a variety of landscapes that testify to the great wealth of the Ticino area.
